Cultivated in our Mas Jané, Fransola (Upper Penedès) Aiguaviva and Cordillera (Chile) vineyards. It has small, golden to green berries depending on maturity, its skin is thick and has a characteristic flavour.
It is one of the few varieties that has an appreciable primary aroma,
prior to vinification and is practically the only variety to benefit
from a raisining effect in the last days prior to harvest.
It produces wines of sublime elegance, fruity, imbued with fine acidity,
subtle body, silky and fresh. We make the fragrant Waltraud (lemon,
cinnamon, pineapple, acacia, grapefruit, rosemary honey) from this
grape. |
